Island Feasts, Broadway Beats, and Street Fair Eats!

Embarking on my NYC adventure from July 29-30, 2023, was an absolute whirlwind of excitement and unforgettable moments! 😄

Friday was all about anticipation as I geared up for an incredible evening at Gitano Island Restaurant & Lounge NYC. But here's the kicker – getting there required a ferry to an actual island! Armed with the instructions from the website, I headed to the ferry dock at 10 South St., NYC 10005. To navigate the notorious Friday night NYC traffic, I allocated a good 30 minutes for transportation. The 7:15 ferry fit perfectly with my 7:30 dinner reservation, and the thought of exploring the island before dinner simply heightened the thrill.

Dinner at Gitano Island was a gastronomic delight, offering a diverse menu that I had the privilege of savoring. The flavors and the ambiance combined to create a truly remarkable experience. 🍹

Saturday kicked off with a visit to "The Book of Hov" exhibit at the Brooklyn Library – a homage to Jay Z. It was a fantastic start to the day, immersing me in the artist's legacy. Energized by the experience, I ventured into a lively street fair where I savored a plate of delectable Jamaican street food. The vibrant atmosphere set the tone for the day.

As the sun set, I eagerly took my seat for the much-anticipated Broadway show, "Hamilton," featuring an exceptional BIPOC cast. The performance left me awe-inspired and deeply moved by the talent on display.

After the show, I made my way to Buddakann for a sensational dining experience. The flavors danced on my taste buds, further elevating my already spectacular day. And the night was far from over – I found myself at Jay Z's 40/40 Club, where I watched an exhilarating boxing match and danced the night away at Jay Z's 40/40 Club. The night was young, and the city's energy was infectious!

On Sunday morning, I strolled around the city, taking in the enchanting lights and the vibrant energy - this magical walk eventually led me to Union Station. It was the perfect way to soak in the city's ambiance before heading to brunch at Negril Village.

Sunday's brunch was a delicious affair at Negril Village, where the attentive wait staff made the experience all the more special. Their surprise addition of grape nut ice cream added an extra layer of delight. 🍨

For those looking for more adventures, the "The Book of Hov" exhibit continued to be a must-see, open during library hours. My NYC journey was filled with an array of experiences that left me with cherished memories and a yearning to return. Until we meet again, NYC! 🗽🌆🌃
